My Journey With The Linux Operating System

My journey with the Linux Operating System



It was my working colleague Lai Kun Keong who introduced me to UNIX/Unix Operating System for the first time at the PHILIPS Service Centre in Petaling Jaya. Lai Kun Keong was the Computer Engineer (Computer Hardware and Maintenance) who was involved in the installation, maintenance and trouble-shooting and pre-sale testing of SCO Unix Server for the Public Bank Project in Malaysia. If I am not mistaken, this happen sometime between 1989 to 1990. He  installed the  SCO Unix Operating System  on a DIGITAL DEC400xP computer hardware (Intel 80486-based server machine). This machine has a 3.5 inch floppy drive, a SCSI hard disk drive, a QIC-525 tape drive and Adaptec SCSI controller card (I could not remember what Model it was but I belief it was an Adaptec 2940 SCSI Controller Card).  The SCO Unix Operating System comes in with a QIC-525 format tape and it is installed on a DIGITAL DEC400xP (Intel 80486-based server) using a QIC-525 tape drive which is already  built-in , in the Server. In 1992 when DIGITAL/DEC/Digital Equipment Corporation bought over Philips Data Systems Division worldwide, majority of the Philips Data Systems staff in Malaysia were absorbed into DIGITAL(M) Sdn. Bhd. When I join DIGITAL from Philips Data Systems, it is sad that I do not have any Systems experience at the OS level (Operating System level) because the Philips Data Systems environment is purely a hardware environment (PHILIPS mini-computer hardware, PHILIPS printer hardware, PHILIPS Concentrator hardware, PHILPS/ControlData hard disk drive hardware, etc., etc., etc.), meaning , I do not need any basic Operating Systems knowledge in order to provide installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of Philips Data Systems products (Philips Data Systems computer hardware). When I was working with DIGITAL I found out that DIGITAL had many customers using various kinds of Operating Systems sitting on different kind of computer hardware. Among them are Windows 95 Operating System, Windows 98 Operating System, Windows NT4 Operating System, VMS Operating System, Ultrix Operating System, Digital Unix Operating System. So, when I am working with DIGITAL, whenever I was assigned a service call in order to provide installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of DIGITAL computer hardware, I can see that it is good to have a basic Systems experience at the OS level (Operating System level) in these Operating Systems like for example Windows 95 OS, Windows 98 OS, Windows NT4 OS, VMS OS, Ultrix OS, Digital Unix OS in order to troubleshoot and repair DIGITAL computer hardware, regardless whether it is a DIGITAL personal computer, DIGITAL Engineering Workstation, DIGITAL printers, or a DIGITAL minicomputer, etc., etc., etc. So, to get some basic Systems experience, I have to start somewhere. I found out about Linux Operating System when I was working with DIGITAL and since I have some basic UNIX experience while playing with SCO Unix in my house (I asked Lai Kun Keong to help me to install SCO Unix OS on my 80386 machine) so ,  switching to Linux Operating Systems and learning about Linux Operating Systems to get some basic Systems experience would make sense. The rest is history. Currently, the Linux Operating System distro that I used are  , KNOPPIX 8.6 ,   KNOPPIX 9.1 ,  Ubuntu 17.10 ,  Ubuntu 18.10  and  PCLinuxOS  [ 1 ] 
By God's grace , I met   Lai Kun Keong  on  Tuesday 16th.August 2016  at one of the entrance door of IKEA Damansara with my daughter Nurul Hayati. We have never seen each other for about 20 years after I left DIGITAL to work for another Company.

Looking for a Linux-related work in Information Technology Services  –  I am still actively looking for a job in the IT services area (installation , setup, maintenance , troubleshooting, fault finding) in the Linux OS environment, that is, a job that give me a chance/opportunity to install,  setup , maintain and trouble-shoot Linux computer hardware  or  Linux computer systems be it, a Linux laptop or a Linux desktop/PC or a Linux Server or a Linux Engineering Workstation or a Linux mainframe or a Linux Data Center. I am hoping to get a job ( a Linux-related job in the services area ) in a Company or Organization that uses Linux in running their day-to-day business or a Company or a  Organization that provides Linux solutions or Linux VARS. 


         November 2004-March 2009 
IT Assistant at Chungco Technology Sdn Bhd - Performed PM (Preventive Maintenance), installation, maintenance and trouble-shooting of HSBC Desktop Computers and Laptop computers. Installation of computer hardware peripherals such as printers, scanners, etc. Installation and update of software for HSBC users when necessary. Provide IT service calls or field-support to HSBC Branches within Kuala Lumpur. Working with Chungco Technology is like a trip down memory lane because I didn't expect to provide IT services to a banking customer which I have provided many years ago. HSBC was one of the major banking customers for the Philips Data Systems computer hardware not a long time ago.

Unemployed – I have been looking for a job in the IT services area but it has not been very successful. While looking for a job I took some short courses on Linux.

Frankly, today, if  I were to start fresh somewhere, I would probably need some of those Diplomas or Degrees to get the job I have now or to get the job I am doing now.

  • Used the Internet to access/download drivers and technical info for trouble-shooting and procurement of computer hardware.
  • Hardware upgrade of SCO Unix machine that runs DECNET protocol from computer hardware DIGITAL DEC PC LPV 433DX to computer hardware DIGITAL FX 5100. Liaise and coordinate with TPSB Senior System Analyst, Noorhayati Shamsuddin, regarding the computer hardware upgrade


  • Upgrading of Windows NT Workstation operating system from Version 3.51 to Version 4.0 at TPSB Kuching, TPSB Miri and TPSB Kota Kinabalu and established connectivity to TPSB HQ.


    • Performed basic system administration task under VAX/VMS environment, SCO Unix environment and Windows NT environment when the need arise.
    • Installation of Red Hat Linux 5.0 Operating System and configured Xfree86 on computer hardware DIGITAL DEC PC LPV 433 DX for TPSB Web Master who wanted to use Perl for programming.

    • I can provide general support and maintenance for LAN/WAN related issues for the Company

    • I can work side by side with the young and with the old and with different races and religion and interact with individuals from all parts of the globe.

    • I am a Team Player and I have eagerness and willingness to learn.

    • I am eager to learn new technologies, especially Linux Operating System, Windows 10 Operating System ,  Windows 11 Operating System ,  fixed-wireless technology and broadband .  It is good to have a basic understanding of these new technologies because it makes me well-rounded, it broaden my knowledge, and I believe I can maximize my skills for the benefit of the Compnay and at the same time I can provide value added services for the Company.

Connect to Wi-Fi  ok .  Connect to  Bluetooth  ok .   [ 1 ]   P.S.   For this setup and  hardware/software   installation ,  I insert a   ASUS Xonar U3   sound card  to the  right-hand  side  of the  USB  port (USB 2.0)   of the   ACER Aspire  R15   15.6 inches   Laptop  (360 degrees foldable Laptop) .  Without the  ASUS Xonar  U3  sound card ,  I find it so difficult to make it work ,  I find it very difficult  to configure  Bluetooth services  on my  ACER  Aspire  R15  Laptop with   Linux  Operating  System  KNOPPIX 7.7.1  ,  let  alone with   Linux OS KNOPPIX  8.6   Getting Bluetooth services to work so that to connect with  any  Bluetooth devices (mouse , keyboard , Speakers ,  Smartphone , etc., etc.)   with  Linux OS  KNOPPIX  7.7.1  and   Linux OS  KNOPPIX  8.6  ,  IS REALLY A NIGHTMARE , due to insufficient knowledge , skills , expertise , technical know-how , etc., etc.  God willing , I hope one day ,  the  KNOPPIX OS  software developer or the  KNOPPIX OS Maintainer , or Mr. Klaus Knopper himself ,  will make Bluetooth software configuration as easy as possible , just like an Android Smartphone .  Connecting to any Bluetooth devices  with an Android Smartphone ,  IS A BREEZE , and  I believe  Linux OS  KNOPPIX  8.6  can do the same , with a little programming effort .  In future ,     I hope we just have to add any USB Dongle to  any   Laptop/Desktop/PC ,  Engineering  Workstation ,  Tablet (INTEL/AMD-based)  and  a   15.6 inches   Linux  Laptop/Tablet/Smartphone (All-in-One) ,    which have  Linux Operating System  KNOPPIX   installed  on them   , and with some basic software configuration , we should be able to connect to any Bluetooth  devices and  ENJOY CONNECTING TO ANY BLUETOOTH DEVICES (e.g. Smartphone , Mouse , Keyboard , Speakers, etc.) ,  just like an  Android  Smartphone .  As of today , 9th.October2020 ,  I found out that Android Operating System 11 and  Linux Operating System Ubuntu 20.04  and  Windows  Operating  System  10  is one of the most user-friendly Operating Systems on the planet when it comes to connecting with any Bluetooth Devices .  Once again , I believe  Linux OS  KNOPPIX  8.6  can do the same , with a little programming effort .  I wish all the best to this wonderful OS and to all the maintainers and  software developers that are deeply involved with this wonderful OS

After booting from the 32 GB Flash Drive with Linus OS KNOPPIX 9.1 on the  ASUSTeK  RAMPAGE  IV  EXTREME  Motherboard , then , use the Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 9.1 to connect to any  Bluetooth  Devices ( example , Bluetooth Speaker , Bluetooth Keyboard , Bluetoth Mouse , Bluetooth  Printer , etc. ) .   Connect to LAN ok . Connect to Wi-Fi  ok .  Connect to  PHILIPS Bluetooth Speaker  ok .   [ 1 ]

      • Transfer files from Windows machine to Linux machine .  Installed Filezilla software on the Windows machine . Installed Filezilla software 32-bit or 64-bit on the Windows machine with respect to the processor of the Windows machine .  Then installed  SSH Server software on the Linux machine .  If the Linux machine is running Linux Operating System KNOPPIX  8.1  ,  then  the  SSH Server software is preinstalled .  If the Linux machine is running  Linux Operating System  Ubuntu  17.10 ,  the  SSH  Server  software is not there .  Then  we have to install  "openssh-server"  software  on the  Linux machine running  Linux Operating System  Ubuntu  17.10

      • Installed  Linux Operating System Ubuntu 18.04 on a 32 GB Sandisk USB Thumb Drive which is connected to the USB 2.0  port of  an  INTEL DZ68DB Motherboad  Personal Computer . Inside the  INTEL DZ68DB Motherboard Personal Computer there is a  1 TB  SATA  HDD which is connected to the SATA Interface of the INTEL DZ68DB Motherboard . Then I use Clonezilla software to clone the  32 GB Sandisk USB Thumb Drive to the  1 TB SATA  HDD .  To free the remaining partition or to get the maximum hard disk space on the  1 TB SATA  HDD  for the  Ubuntu  18.04 to use ,  I use the  Gparted Software . When using the  Gparted Software to free some hard disk space ,  I make sure that the hard disk drive ( e.g. in this case it is the 1 TB SATA HDD )  should be connected straight to the Hard Disk Drive Controller (via SATA cable or IDE cable)  which is then connected straight to the  INTEL  DZ68DB  Motherboard  BUT NOT TO THE  USB 2.0  PORT  OR  USB 3.0  PORT

      • Installed Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 8.1 Live DVD to a RAM drive on a MSI GE70 laptop.  Boot up the Linux OS KNOPPIX  8.1  Live DVD on the MSI GE70 Laptop using the KNOPPIX Cheatcodes , that is ,  knoppix64  toram . The MSI GE70 Latop is equipped with  16GB of main memory . In fact ,  I can get Internet access by just  connecting the home network LAN cable straight to the USB port of the ACER Aspire Laptop because the Linux kernel of the Linux OS KNOPPIX 8.1  currently support the embedded LAN chipset (Killer E2200 chipset) of the MSI GE70 ,  on the fly . There is no need to install Linux drivers for the  MSI GE70 LAN chipset (Killer E2200 chipset) .  I also can get Internet access by connecting the MSI GE70 Laptop to the Wireless Home Router using Wi-Fi  because the embedded wireless chipset inside the MSI GE70 Laptop is supported by the Linux kernel of the  Linux OS KNOPPIX  8.1 ,  on the fly . The only drawback of the embedded wireless chipset inside the MSI GE70 Laptop is because it can only support until  802.11 n  whereas  the  TP-LINK AC1300 Wireless USB Adapter can support until  802.11 ac which goes well with my Wireless Home Router which can also support  until  802.11 ac .

Then we can start to transfer files from the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 to the MSI GE70 laptop and vice versa using the ES File Explorer software.

      • Troubleshoot Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.2 running on HP dc7600 computer hardware because my daughter mess up the LXDE desktop until the minimize/maximize/close buttons missing in LXDE Window. To the Linux OS Fedora user ' jonrpick ' thank you very much for the awesome tip. I ran the folowing command under su mode, that is, compiz --replace gconf, and after that I reset the HP dc7600 machine and after that it is back to normal. [ 1 ]

      • Troubleshoot Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.4 running on  MSI GE70 laptop as to why Compiz software not working . Compiz software has no problem running on MSI GP70 laptop .

      • Troubleshoot  Linux Operating System Ubuntu 17.10  on  ACER Aspire R15  (15.6 inches) .  Linux Operating System Ubuntu 17.10 was corrupted because I quickly pull out the USB Hard Disk Drive (installed with  Ubuntu 17.10) from the USB port of the ACER Aspire R15  in a hurry without doing a proper shutdown , without doing a graceful shutdown of the Linux OS .  Did  'fsck /dev/sdb' and press ENTER and then repaired the 'inodes' of the software by typing 'y' and then type 'exit' followed by ENTER . Problem fixed .

      • Troubleshoot  ASUS P9X79 LE   Personal Computer at the application level, that is, running google chrome software on Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.4  produced  an error message that says  ' your connection is not private ' .  After googling , I found out this  website and it was very useful and I have fixed this error. It has something that got to do with the adjustment of date and time. Changed the date and time on my ASUS P9X79 LE motherboard BIOS  to the current date and time and the problem is gone now. Than you very much Tony Tran for this awesome tip.

      • Troubleshoot  Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 8.6 which is installed on  a 32 GB SanDisk Ultra USB 3.0 regarding why I cannot clone this 32 GB Thumbdrive to a           2.5 "  160 GB  SATA Hard Disk Drive .  Basically , the 32 GB Thumbdrive  and the                 2.5 "  160 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive is connected to the  USB port of a  Motherboard , regardless whether it is a USB 2.0 port or a  USB 3.0 port .  The 2.5 "  160 GB  Sata Hard Disk Drive is connected to a  USB port of  a  Motherboard  with the help of  a  2.5 "  Hard Disk Drive  Enclosure .  Cloning ( I used Clonezilla Software )  the 32 GB Thumbdrive to the  2.5 "  160 GB SATA  Hard Disk Drive ( fixed with a Hard Disk Drive Enclosure which is then connected to a USB port of the Motherboard )  was not successful , so , I had to remove the  2.5 "  160 GB  SATA  Hard Disk Drive  from the  2.5 "  Hard Disk Drive Enclosure  and connect the  2.5 "  160 GB SATA  Hard Disk Drive  directly to the SATA  Data  Cable and SATA Power Cable  of the Motherboard and after that the Cloning ( using Clonezilla software )  was  successful . Problem fixed .     

      • Installed Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.2 on a 2.5 inch SSD drive 60 GB connected to usb to sata/ide adapter. Then try to clone this  Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.2 to another 3.5 inch sata hard drive 80 GB connected to usb to sata/ide adapter. I use the MSI GE70 computer hardware as a platform for cloning the hard drives. The software that I use for cloning on the MSI GE70 hardware is Clonezilla. With Clonezilla, the first method I use was disk-to-disk cloning and the second method I use was the backup/restore. However, both methods use do not give good results. I could not get an exact replica of the 60 GB hard disk on the 80 GB hard disk. Clonezilla can only cloned 2 usb hard disk drives if one of them is installed with Windows Operating System (Windows XP/Vista/7/8). With Acronis True Image Home 2009, the first method I use was disk-to-disk cloning and it does not give good results either and the second method I use was the backup/restore. Fantastic. Awesome. The backup/restore method works. I managed to get an exact replica of the 60 GB hard disk on the 80 GB hard disk. To make the Linux OS KNOPPIX 7.2 recognise the remaining 20 GB hard disk space, I use the Gparted software. Cloning 2 usb hard disk drives with Acronis True Image Home 2009 works fine too provided if one of the usb hard disk drives is installed with Windows Operating System (Windows XP/Vista/7/8).

      • Upgrade Linux Operating System Ubuntu 13.04 to Linux Operating System Ubuntu 13.10 and then upgrade to Linux Operating System Ubuntu 14.04

      • Download Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.4 from the Internet (Knoppix Mirror) [ 1 2 ] and install it on a 20 GB IDE hard disk drive. The 20 GB IDE hard disk drive is connected to a usb to sata/ide adapter and then it is connected to a USB 2.0 port of an Intel Motherboard/CPU. After the Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.4 installation is completed, I installed the google chrome software for Linux and it fail for the first time. Installation of google chrome software for Linux on KNOPPIX 7.4 requires libappindicator1 package, so, I download and install the package libappindicator1 using Synaptic Package Manager and finally I got the google chrome software working and running on the Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.4

      • Installed Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.4 to a RAM drive on a MSI GE70 compputer hardware and then test the Iceweasel browser which come preinstalled with KNOPPIX 7.4  by clicking ' Speedtest.net by Ookla ' but it was not successful. Speedtest.net requires Adobe Flash Player for Linux. Installed ' flashplugin-nonfree ' software using Synaptic Package Manager and then restart the Iceweasel browser and then it was okay [ 1 2 ]

      • Installed Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.2 on a 60 GB 2.5 inch SSD  drive which is connected to a usb to sata/ide adapter which is then connected to an Intel Motherboard/CPU . After the Linux OS KNOPPIX 7.2 is installed, then I install VMware Workstation 10 and then I install Windows XP Operating System as the guest OS.

      • Using VMware Workstation 10, I found out that playing songs on You Tube using the Firefox browser on the host operating system (installed Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.2 as the host operating system) and working on my blog on the guest operating system (installed Windows XP Operating System as the guest operating system) did not cause the audio to hangup or jilted or screech to a halt. I scrolled the page on my blog up and down rapidly on my Windows XP Guest OS and it did not hang up the audio on the Linux KNOPPIX 7.2 Host OS.   But if I play songs on You Tube using Firefox browser on my Windows XP Guest OS and at the same time I am working on my blog on the Windows XP Guest OS and if I were to scroll the page on my blog up and down rapidly, the audio or the sound coming out from You Tube will hang momentarily. But if I did not  scroll, the audio coming out from You Tube will be smooth as usual.

      • Troubleshoot "YouTube videos playing too fast and without sound" on my Linux machine. My Linux machine is booted up with Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.2 64-bit on a 500 GB SATA drive via  'knoppix64' boot option (using KNOPPIX cheatcodes) with KDE as my Window Manager/Desktop Environment. Before that I have already booted up my Linux machine with Linux OS  KNOPPIX 7.2  32-bit on my 500 GB SATA drive but same problem.  The cheatcodes that I use to boot the Linux OS KNOPPIX 7.2 64-bit is  " boot: knoppix64 toram no3d screen=1024x768 desktop=kde "  First, I thought it was the computer hardware problem on my Linux machine, so, I boot up a KNOPPIX 7.2 Live DVD and play some videos on my Linux machine, it was okay. After googling I found out this web site, which is a YouTube  video on how to solve this problem. Thank you very much mrinal saha for this awesome tip.

      • Troubleshoot  " speedtest.net " application software on MSI GE70 computer hardware running Linux Operating System Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. When clicking " speedtest.net "  the application said  " You need to install Flash Player...... "

      • Troubleshoot  "YouTube videos no sound no audio on my Linux machine running Linux OS KNOPPIX 7.2  64 bit  (using KNOPPIX cheatcodes)  and also on my Windows XP 32 bit Guest OS " .  I am using this awesome virtualization software called VMware Workstation 10 to run my Windows XP 32 bit as the Guest OS.

      • Troubleshoot  " download google chrome browser 32 bit for Linux OS from the Internet and installed the browser on a Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.2 64-bit and try to make it work "  . The Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.2 is installed as a RAM drive on a Linux machine .  The Linux machine has 32 GB of main memory with XEON microprocessor and  a  ATI Radeon HD5570 graphics card.

      • Troubleshoot  Google Chrome browser Version 67 why it cannot be install on  Linux Operating System  KNOPPIX 8.1 on  MSI GE70  but installation of  Google Chrome browser Version  67  on  Linux Operating  System  Ubuntu 17.10  on  MSI GE70  is successful .  Problem not solved yet !

      • Used the Linux Operating System Utility ' dd '  to clone the 32GB SanDisk flash drive to a 80 GB sata hard disk drive. Inside the 32GB SanDisk flash drive is a Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.4  . The reason I wanted to do this is because when I boot from my 80GB sata hard disk drive , I wanted the Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.4 boot options to appear. After reboot , the KNOPPIX 7.4 boot options will not appear if I do a fresh install of Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.4 on the 80 GB sata hard disk drive .  But if I were to install Linux Operating System KNOPPIX 7.4 on the 32GB SanDisk flash drive , I can get the KNOPPIX 7.4 boot options to appear after I reboot from the usb flash drive. There must be some other way to get the boot options to appear when doing a fresh install of Linux OS Knoppix 7.4 on the 80 GB sata hard disk drive. Currently this is the only method that I can think of , that is , to clone the 32GB flash drive to a 80 GB sata hard disk drive for the Linux KNOPPIX 7.4 boot options to appear after a reboot.       • ACER Aspire R15  15.6 inches (360 degrees foldable)  [ 1 ]  is friends with  Linux Operating System  KNOPPIX  8.2    Set  the  UEFI/BIOS  from  AHCI to  Legacy .  Then connect an  External  DVD-RW  Player  to  the USB Port of the  ACER Aspire  R15   15.6 inches .  Insert a  ' bootable '   Linux  Operating System  KNOPPIX  8.2  inside the   External  DVD-RW  Player  which  is connected to the  USB Port  of the   ACER Aspire R15   15.6 inches .    RESTART or  SWITCH ON the power of the   ACER  Aspire  R15  15.6 inches then  after  BOOTUP  type in the  KNOPPIX 8.2 Cheatcode " knoppix64  toram  xmodule=svga "  when    " Knoppix :  "   is displayed on the screen .  The  ACER  Aspire  R15   15.6 inches  will load all the  entire   Linux OS KNOPPIX  8.2 and all the Linux application software that is inside the  KNOPPIX 8.2  bootable DVD   to  a  RAM drive , meaning ,  the  entire  Linux OS  KNOPPIX 8.2   can be  operated  inside  a RAM drive . The amount of RAM  inside the  ACER Aspire R15 (15.6 inches)  must have 8GB or  more in order for this to work . As a result , the existing  Windows 10  Operating System 64-bit that is preinstalled inside the  ACER Aspire R15   (15.6 inches)  laptop will not be affected After we have have finished doing what we wanted to do with the  Linux OS KNOPPIX 8.2  inside  the  ACER Aspire R15 (15.6 inches)  Laptop ,  just shutdown the  Linux OS KNPPIX 8.2  ,  disconnect the  External DVD-RW Player  and RESTART  the   ACER Aspire R15 (15.6 inches) , then we are back  to  Windows 10 Operating System .

If a  15.6 inches   screen size  is considered  huge or large or very big or too big or gargantuan  to be the size of  of  a Phone/Smartphone ,  so much so that the    Smartphone    hardware/software      manufacturer  refuse to built them .  Don't  worry , for fans who love big phones ,  huge phones or  giant phones ,  we  can always buy tablets or big tablets that can do the work of a  Smartphone , but with a bigger footprint .  But if there is someone out there who can make a    folding    Phone/Smartphone  that  can  unfold  into  a   15.6 inches    Tablet   using the  ZTE  concept ,  it should be  great .  In my opinion , it is a great concept and I hope there is a hardware/software   manufacturer out there who will make a  Folding    Phone/Smartphone  which  can  unfold  to  a   15.6 inches  screen  size [ 1 ]  using  the  ZTE  concept  or the   SAMSUNG  concept of   a  folding  Smartphone .

The idea is not to delete the existing  Operating System that is preinstalled inside the  15.6 inches  Windows Phone but to use it as an alternative OS that we can also use for  study ,  work  and  play ,  just  like  a  PC/Desktop .  Otherwise ,  Microsoft can always make  a  DUAL-BOOT  Version  of the   15.6 inches  Windows  Phone , just like the   " ASUS Transformer  All-in-One "    computer  hardware .  That means ,  whether  we boot  the  15.6 inches  Windows Phone  to  Windows 10  OS   or   Linux  OS ,  we should be able  to make  telephone calls  and receive telephone  calls , either of them , just like any  Android   Smartphone . Perhaps in the not too distant future ,  a   Laptop/Tablet/Smartphone (All-in-One)  device regardless of screen size , regardless of Operating System could be our only computer .  Like any other computer hardware device , this machine is not for everyone , this machine cannot be everything for everyone , this machine cannot be everything for everybody , but there are some consumers out there who might find this   ALL-IN-1  device , this   ALL-IN-1  machine ,  very useful and very practical .  I am one of them .

         I am a 65 year old Malay man , a family man of 4 children , and I am a retiree and I am a Muslim . During the COVID 19  lockdown/pandemic and until today , being a retiree , besides praying 5 times a day and  reading the  KORAN/QURAN , the entertainment that I enjoy , among them are , watching TV , listening to music and cycling . Among the TV programs shown on ASTRO , that I enjoy watching are   " Resident Alien "  and   " Super Girl " .  When I was a  kid/teenager , I use to read  MARVEL Comics and  DC Comics and I use to exchange  Comics with my Schoolmates and when the Hollywood TV Show  " Super Girl "  was available on ASTRO , I just took the opportunity to watch the   " Super Girl "  TV program .  What a time to be still alive , right ?  Watching your Comic Superhero flying on the TV screen . But to my dismay , after watching a few episodes of   " Super Girl "  ,  I was shocked and horrified to find out that there was a few episodes in the film  " Super Girl " , that showed an illicit love scene of   " a woman kissing one another on the lips " .  Without doubt this scene is definitely an act of   " Lesbianism "  or   " have an LGBT element "  inside it ,  which I feel is  TOO MUCH FOR ME AS A MUSLIM TO CHEW OR ANY OF MY MUSLIM BROTHERS OR SISTERS TO CHEW .

        Correct me if I am wrong , I have never seen  MARVEL Comics Superhero                           ( SPIDERMAN , FANTASTIC FOUR , THE INVINCIBLE IRON MAN , THE INCREDIBLE HULK , THOR , THE AVENGERS , THE ANTMAN , DOCTOR STRANGE , DAREDEVIL , etc., etc. ) shown on ASTRO Satellite TV , depicted such         " sick relationship "   scenes .  Another Hollywood  TV  Program/Film that I stumbled across , while watching ASTRO Satellite TV , which have a similar illicit love scene are  THE CURSE OF CHUCKY and  BATWOMAN and there is a reason to believe that there are many more .

        ASTRO Broadcasting Company should have some awareness that ASTRO Satellite               " TV Programs "  are watched by millions of Malaysians , young and old , and also people living in Brunei and Indonesia whereby majority of the population are Muslims .  As a Malaysian , Muslim or non-Muslim families , Muslim parents or non-Muslim parents , and other religious faith , who share the same moral values and ethics as I am , I believe it would be more appropriate if these illicit scenes ( scenes that contradict ISLAM and the ISLAMIC Law ) in  SUPERGIRL , THE CURSE OF CHUCKY and  BATWOMAN which are   " deemed unappropriate "    are   cut/edited  based on our Malaysian customs and religion , before these films go on air .

        I have nothing against Hollywood TV programs and Hollywood movies because I enjoy watching them , since I was a   kid/teenager .  I have been watching Hollywood TV programs and Hollywood movies for so many years since 1967 on a black and white television and on the big Cinema , before we have Satellite TV .   As a Malaysian , and as a Muslim , and as a parent , and have been watching TV for so many years , I believe , myself and my family , and other Muslim or non-Muslim families , have tolerated many scenes in Hollywood TV programs and Hollywood films , that are shown on our Malaysian TV   today ,  but these    " lesbian-scenes "  in  SUPERGIRL , THE CURSE OF CHUCKY  and  BATWOMAN ,    WE NEED TO STOP TOLERATING (before we face The Wrath Of ALLAH)  .  If  these   disgusting scenes , if these disgusting act becomes prevalent on our Malaysian TV , may God Forbid , it will become   ANOTHER NEW NORMAL  in our Malaysian TV , so much so that , we will be seeing more and more TV programs showing these kind of  disgusting    scenes/act  ,  spreading like wild fire .

When a   foldable  Smartphone have a  15.6 inches screen size  when unfolded  , in my opinion , that folding  smartphone  automatically become a  15.6 inches  Tablet ( a  15.6 inches  lightweight  Tablet ) and the software automatically convert the   smartphone/tablet   interface  into a  laptop-like  interface , into a  laptop-like  experience .    Being a  15.6 inches Iightweight Tablet and with that  15.6 inches form factor and when it is connected to a   wireless/bluetooth  keyboard and a wireless/bluetooth  mouse ,  that same  folding smartphone  automatically become a  PC/Desktop/Laptop .  That transformation from a  Smartphone ( a HP folding smartphone ) to a  Tablet  and then to a   PC/Desktop/Laptop   make an  HP folding smartphone qualified to be  a    Laptop/Tablet/Smartphone(All-in-ONE)  machine ,  a true and a real  Laptop/Tablet/Smartphone(All-in-ONE)  machine .

                 Most of the INTEL x86 Tablets and  INTEL x86  Laptops  running Windows Operating System that are  available today , as of today  June 2021 , they do not have  cellular  connectivity , they  cannot make voice calls like an Android Smartphone .  Some of these x86 Tablets  and  x86  Laptops are beautiful , gorgeous and stunningly beautiful because they are  thin and light and  slim and sleek and  skinnier .            Truly  Amazing ! Some of this  INTEL x86    Tablet/Laptop     running  Windows Operating System are fitted with              3G/4G/4G LTE/5G     SIM Card Slot , but still they do not have  cellular  connectivity .  They are  mainly  use for data only to get  Internet  access  on the  INTEL x86    Tablet/Laptop   using 3G network or  4G  network  or  4G LTE  network   or  5G  network .  Even if they can make voice calls or video calls , it is only  VoIP , by  using software like  WhatsApp , Skype , Zoom , etc.,  but the voice quality is  choppy , laggy , stutter , etc.  Having said that ,  the voice calls are bad quality . 
        Once again I would like to say that ,  with the advent of IoT and 5G , I believe ,  a device what people wanted  nowadays is a device that can  combine a  Laptop ,  with a Tablet and with a  Smartphone .  Meaning , a Laptop and a  Tablet and  a  Smartphone merge into one machine .  As of  today ,  June 2021 ,   foldable smartphones are all the rage , and  I  believe  foldable smartphones can be  our   Laptop/Tablet/Smartphone (ALL-in-ONE)  machine because  when this   " foldable Smartphone "   unfold , it  can become  a   15.6 inches  Tablet  or  a   17.6 inches  Tablet .   As a  result ,  this  foldable  Smartphone , when unfold , it can be  a   Laptop , it can  be  a   Tablet  and  it  can  be  a   Smartphone . Like a  Transformer  Smartphone .  With the right   processor/microprocessor ,   with the  right   Operating  System ,  with the right software , with  the  right  screen  size ,  this machine can be our  Ultimate Machine .           Sadly , this NOKIA T20 Tablet cannot be use as a Smartphone , meaning , it cannot be use to make telephone calls and it cannot be use to receive telephone calls . Not like an Android Smartphone . Some people do like very much their Tablet to work very well as a Smartphone but it seems that the NOKIA T20 Tablet cannot do so . This is not the first time NOKIA/HMD Global has been making Tablets and I thought NOKIA/HMD Global could come up with something new , like what other Tablet manufacturers have did .

        • SAMSUNG has been making voice calling Tablets for quite some time . These [ 1 2 3 4 5 6 ] are a few examples . My suggestion for the next version of NOKIA/HMD Global Tablets will be somewhere along these lines mentioned below .

        • With the advent of IoT and 5G , I believe ,  a device what people wanted  nowadays is a device that can  combine a  Laptop ,  with a Tablet and with a  Smartphone .  Meaning , a Laptop and a  Tablet and  a  Smartphone merge into one machine .  It can be a                               voice calling Tablet [ a   15.6 inches   Windows-10   version of this machine using INTEL  processor with voice call like an Android Smartphone would be very nice  ]  , it can be a  Cellular Laptop [ 1 2 ]  or  it can be a  folding Smartphone .  As of    today ,  June 2021 ,   foldable smartphones are all the rage , and  I  believe  foldable smartphones can be  our   Laptop/Tablet/Smartphone (ALL-in-ONE)  machine because  when this   " foldable Smartphone "   unfold , it  can become  a   15.6 inches  Tablet  or  a   17.6 inches  Tablet .   As a  result ,  this  foldable  Smartphone , when unfold , it can be  a   Laptop , it can  be  a   Tablet  and  it  can  be  a   Smartphone . Like a  Transformer  Smartphone .  With the right   processor/microprocessor ,   with the  right   Operating  System ,  with the right software                                      ( and System Utilities ) , with  the  right  screen  size ,  this machine can be our  Ultimate Machine . We do not not have to carry 2  devices ,  or  3  devices ,  2  chargers or  3  chargers . We only carry  1  device  and  1  charger .  We  only carry  1  device , we only carry  1  machine  for  study , work ,  play and  entertainment . 


        •  NOKIA _   As of today , 1st.May2021 ,  I hope NOKIA could bring back the NOKIA Lumia 2520 4G LTE , BUT  a new version of NOKIA  Lumia  2520 4G LTE .  As a layman , this is my suggestion   .      This  , is what I would like to see in  NOKIA hardware device .    NOKIA should return to making  Windows-powered  Tablets like what they did before with  NOKIA Lumia 2520 4G LTE .   Not  Windows-powered   Tablets that run on  ARM  processor              ( Snapdragon chipset )  but  Windows-powered   Tablets  that run on  INTEL processor ( INTEL  chipset/microprocessor ) .  Once again ,   This  is the kind of machine that I would like to see in the not too distant future .  Long live NOKIA .

In my opinion , when a Smartphone is 15.6 inches in size and have a powerful hardware like the SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 9 , this machine can be a  Laptop (which means it can give a good desktop appearance) and a Tablet and a Smartphone  all in one .  A  15.6 inches Tablet with similar hardware like the  SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 9  Smartphone will make a good  15.6 inches Android Tablet and I think any  hardware/software  manufacturer  will know that , and i think any  hardware/software  manufacturer will agree with that because it is thin and light and slim and sleek just like a SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 9  smartphone . Once again , this   15.6 inches Android machine will be a good option for consumers who love  big/huge/giant   Smartphones which act like a Laptop , a Tablet and a Smartphone which they can carry in their backpacks or bag.
