" DeX Mode " wishlist
In “ DeX Mode “ , a SAMSUNG DeX-supported Smartphone , like for example , the SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 9 when connected to a External Monitor ( or to an External Monitor that can rotate ) , regardless of screen size , regardless whether “ touchscreen “ or “ no touchscreen “, via a SAMSUNG Multiport Adapter , the SAMSUNG DeX app software should provide or should have :
1. a " screen resolution adjustment " software utility or a " screen resolution adjustment " app or a configuration tool inside SAMSUNG DeX app so that we can adjust the screen resolution of the external monitor to the users/customers liking , just like a Windows machine . Currently the screen resolution in “ DeX mode “ , that is , when connecting a SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 9 to an HDMI External 15.6 inches ( or 17 inches , 27 inches , 32 inches , 40 inches , 55 inches , 65 inches , or bigger ) Touchscreen Monitor or to an HDMI External 15.6 inches ( or 17 inches , 27 inches , 32 inches , 40 inches , 55 inches , 65 inches , or bigger ) Touchscreen Monitor that can auto-rotate , via a SAMSUNG Multiport Adapter , and when surfing the Internet using the Google Chrome Browser , the text , the characters , shown on the display on my 15.6 inches External Monitor , the text is too small and sadly the screen resolution cannot be adjusted to " 1360x768 " or " 1280x720 " . When surfing the Internet using the Google Chrome Browser , increasing the text size by pressing ( CTRL ) and ( + ) on the keyboard will make the text look bigger but other parts of the text will go missing at the corners of the 15.6 inches Display . If I can get a screen resolution of " 1360x768 " on my 15.6 inches “ Touchscreen “ External Monitor and a screen resolution of " 1280x720 " on my 40 inches “ Touchscreen “ External Monitor in “ DeX Mode “ when surfing the Internet using the Google Chrome Browser , I would be more than happy . Once again , I would be more than happy if I can get a " 1360x768 " resolution displayed on my HDMI External 15.6 inches Monitor when my SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 9 is connected to the HDMI External 15.6 inches Monitor via a SAMSUNG Multiport Adapter and the image should be equivalent to running a Windows 10 OS on my 15.6 inches Laptop with a screen resolution of " 1360x768 " , so much so that , when surfing the Internet using the Google Chrome Browser , there is no need to increase the text size by pressing ( CTRL ) and ( + ) on the keyboard ( or virtual keyboard ) , to make the text or wordings look slightly bigger .
Take for example , in a Windows machine , a 15.6 inches Windows Laptop or a 15.6 inches Windows Tablet can be adjusted to have a screen resolution of " 1360x768 " . Another example , a 15.6 inches Windows Laptop or a 15.6 inches Windows Tablet when connected to a HDMI External 27 inches Monitor , the HDMI External 27 inches Monitor can be adjusted to have a screen resolution of " 1280x720 " . Hopefully , in future , in “ DeX Mode “ , a SAMSUNG DeX-supported Smartphone , like for example , the SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 9 when connected to a External Monitor ( or to an External Monitor that can rotate ) , regardless of screen size , regardless whether “ touchscreen “ or “ no touchscreen “, via a SAMSUNG Multiport Adapter , SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO THE SAME TOO , just like a Windows machine ( Windows Laptop/Tablet ) .
2. In “ DeX Mode “ , when I am connecting my SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 9 to an HDMI External 15.6 inches ( or 17 inches , 27 inches , 32 inches , 40 inches , 55 inches , 65 inches , or bigger ) Touchscreen Monitor or to an HDMI External 15.6 inches ( or 17 inches , 27 inches , 32 inches , 40 inches , 55 inches , 65 inches , or bigger ) Touchscreen Monitor that can auto-rotate , via a SAMSUNG Multiport Adapter , when surfing the Internet using the Google Chrome Browser , SAMSUNG should provide a Software Utility or a Configuration Tool inside SAMSUNG DeX app so that we can view the display on the 15.6 inches " Touchscreen " External Monitor ( or the 15.6 inches " Touchscreen " External Monitor that can auto-rotate ) , either in “ portrait mode “ or “ landscape mode “ by just a simple “ Click “ on the mouse , just like what a Windows Operating System provide in a Windows Laptop or in a Windows Tablet .
Currently , in “ DeX Mode “ , if the SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 9 is connected to a 15.6 inches " Touchscreen " External Monitor , via a SAMSUNG Multiport Adapter , and when surfing the Internet using the Google Chrome Browser , the display on the 15.6 inches " Touchscreen " External Monitor will always be in " landscape mode " , and the display will still remain in " landscape mode " and there is no way to change from " landscape mode " to " portrait mode " . This is a bummer when we have a 15.6 inches " Touchscreen " External Monitor that can auto-rotate and when we want to view the web pages in " portrait mode " and we cannot do so and other special purposes that we want to view in " portrait mode " which is very helpful , very useful and very handy , like coding , programming , text writing , editing a blog , reading ebooks , viewing photos on a bigger screen .
3. When using SAMSUNG DeX software in “ DeX Mode “ , I would like to see the on-screen keyboard , slightly bigger , just like the on-screen keyboard of a [ 15.6 inches Touchscreen " 360 degrees foldable " INTEL-based Windows 10 OS 5G Cellular Laptop with built-in DVD-RW Player ] which is folded to become a [ 15.6 inches "Touchscreen" INTEL-based Windows 10 OS 5G Cellular Tablet with built-in DVD-RW Player ] , meaning , when I am using a SAMSUNG DeX-supported Smartphone or when I am using a SAMSUNG DeX-supported Tablet , to connect to a HDMI External 15.6 inches ( or 17 inches , 27 inches , 32 inches , 40 inches , 55 inches , 65 inches , or bigger ) Touchscreen Monitor or to an HDMI External 15.6 inches ( or 17 inches , 27 inches , 32 inches , 40 inches , 55 inches , 65 inches , or bigger ) Touchscreen Monitor that can auto-rotate , via a SAMSUNG Multiport Adapter , the on-screen keyboard should be slightly bigger . Currently the on-screen keyboard is quite small and sometimes when we type , we tend to miss certain characters . Senior citizens would appreciate so much if the on-screen keyboard is slightly bigger .
" Mirror Mode " wishlist
A SAMSUNG DeX-supported Smartphone , like for example , the SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 9 when connected to a External Monitor ( or to an External Monitor that can rotate ) , regardless of screen size , regardless whether “ touchscreen “ or “ no touchscreen “, via a SAMSUNG Multiport Adapter , in “ Mirror Mode “ , I would be more than happy if I can adjust the screen resolution to “ 1360x768 “ or " 1366x768 " on my 15.6 inches " Touchscreen " External Monitor .
When I am in “ Mirror Mode “ and when connecting my SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 9 to an HDMI External 15.6 inches ( or 17 inches , 27 inches , 32 inches , 40 inches , 55 inches , 65 inches , or bigger ) Touchscreen Monitor or to an HDMI External 15.6 inches ( or 17 inches , 27 inches , 32 inches , 40 inches , 55 inches , 65 inches , or bigger ) Touchscreen Monitor that can auto-rotate , via a SAMSUNG Multiport Adapter , the display or the image on my HDMI External 15.6 inches Monitor look bloated , the display is " blown up " ( the image has that zooming-in-zooming-out look ) when surfing the Internet using the Google Chrome Browser , and sadly , the screen resolution cannot be adjusted . I would be more than happy if I can get a screen resolution of " 1360x768 " or " 1366x768 " on my 15.6 inches “ Touchscreen “ External Monitor in “ Mirror Mode “ , just like running Windows 10 OS on my 15.6 inches Laptop or my 15.6 inches Tablet with a screen resolution of " 1360x768 " .
Another example , a 15.6 inches Windows Laptop or a 15.6 inches Windows Tablet , in " mirror mode " when connected to a HDMI External 27 inches Monitor can be adjusted to have a screen resolution of " 1280x720 " . Hopefully , in future , in “ Mirror Mode “ , a SAMSUNG DeX-supported Smartphone , like for example , the SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 9 when connected to an HDMI External 15.6 inches ( or 17 inches , 27 inches , 32 inches , 40 inches , 55 inches , 65 inches , or bigger ) Touchscreen Monitor or to an HDMI External 15.6 inches ( or 17 inches , 27 inches , 32 inches , 40 inches , 55 inches , 65 inches , or bigger ) Touchscreen Monitor that can auto-rotate , via a SAMSUNG Multiport Adapter , when surfing the Internet using the Google Chrome Browser , SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO THE SAME TOO , just like a Windows machine ( Windows Laptop/Tablet ).
