Copilot , I would like to do the same thing , too , for my YANDEX browser , meaning , I would like to change the TAB color of my YANDEX browser to RED COLOR ! Is there a possibility that I can do that just like what I did with my Firefox Browser ? THANKS for the answer Copilot.

Great question! Yandex Browser is built on Chromium (like Chrome, Edge, Opera), so it doesn’t support the same userChrome.css customization that Firefox does. That means you can’t directly inject CSS into the browser’s UI to recolor tabs. But you do have a few workable options:

🎨 Option 1: Use Yandex Themes

  • Yandex Browser supports themes that change the appearance of tabs, toolbars, and backgrounds.
  • You can install a theme with red accents to make tabs more visible.
  • Steps:
    1. Open Yandex Browser.
    2. Go to Menu → Settings → Appearance → Backgrounds and Themes.
    3. Browse or search for a theme with red highlights.
    4. Apply it — your tabs will adopt the theme’s color scheme.

🛠️ Option 2: Custom Extensions

  • Since Yandex is Chromium-based, you can install Chrome extensions.
  • Extensions like Stylus or Custom CSS Injector let you apply CSS to websites, but unfortunately they cannot recolor the browser’s own tabs (only webpage content).
  • However, there are extensions specifically designed to re-theme the browser UI. Searching for “Chrome tab color changer” or “Yandex tab theme” may give you options.

⚡ Option 3: High-Contrast Mode

  • Yandex has accessibility settings that can make active tabs more distinct.
  • In Settings → Accessibility, you can enable high-contrast or bold highlighting.
  • While not pure red, it makes tab switching much clearer.

✅ Reality Check

  • Firefox allows deep UI customization with userChrome.css.
  • Yandex/Chromium browsers don’t expose that level of control.
  • The best solution is to use themes or extensions to approximate red tabs.

👉 If you’d like, I can help you find a ready-made red theme for Yandex Browser that makes your active tab stand out clearly. Would you like me to look that up for you?

P.S.   As of today December 2025 , running the YANDEX browser on a Windows 8 Operating System on my  MSI GP70 2PE Leopard  Laptop do not require me to change the color of my YANDEX TAB because the default color of the YANDEX TAB is distinguishable , it is not like the  default color of the  Firefox Browser where the  default color of the  TAB is white .
