Samsung patent shows Microsoft Surface Duo-like smartphone

A patent from Samsung has surfaced showing a device that is very similar to the recently presented Microsoft Surface Duo. The Samsung phone also has two screens and is expected to run on Android.
Foldable smartphone is slowly becoming a reality. Samsung has the Galaxy Fold, Huawei has the Mate X and Microsoft recently presented the Microsoft Surface Duo. This type of telephone comes in various shapes and sizes. And although Samsung already has its own folding phone, in the meantime the South Korean manufacturer seems to be working on a new model with a different form factor. This is apparent from a patent that Pantently Mobile has published.
Microsoft Surface Duo smartphone from Samsung
Remarkable about this patent is that Samsung submitted the design of the Microsoft Surface Duo-like smartphone in 2013, but was only awarded by the US Patent and Trademark Office last month. The timing is great, since people are starting to get excited about such products, looking at the upcoming release of the LG G8X ThinQ. The Microsoft Surface Duo is planned for a release in 2020

The Samsung patent shows one device. So it is not a phone with a separate case, like the LG G8X. If we look at the edges on the side of this foldable phone, they are impossible for the standards in 2013 - but here in the future we are hardly used to it anymore. The interruption between the two screens therefore appears to be minimal.
The advantage for Samsung
Such a patent naturally captures an idea. It is also not at all certain that such a product will come onto the market. Nevertheless, Samsung would have a head start on the competition when the company releases this foldable smartphone. The manufacturer's software, the One UI, is already optimized for phones that you can fold. So little needs to be done about this.
Moreover, the S Pen from Samsung, made possible by Wacon, also works well with Android, making the basis for this product already solid. Now the question.
