Windows 10 Operating System _ Disable Windows 10 Login Prompt

Hi Copilot , could you please teach me or give me a step-by-step procedure on how do I automatically use the Windows 10 PC/Desktop without entering any password , meaning , without asking me to login and enter any password ? I am setting this Windows 10 PC/Desktop for my daughter , who . once in a while , she would sit in front of her Windows 10 PC/Desktop and after that she would go off to play some games , and then she would come back to her Windows 10 macine to jam on it . Currently , I have set the "BUBBLE" screensaver on her Windows 10 machine but when my daughter come back to use her Windows 10 machine , the Windows 10 machine would ask her to key in her password . As a result of that , I would like to diasable the Windows 10 Login prompt and disable the password PERMANENTLY , so that when my daughter see that BUBBLE screen saver and when she touches the ENTER key on her keyboard , she can use her Windows 10 machine straight away! THANKS Copilot for the answer.

Got it 👍 — you want your daughter’s Windows 10 PC to skip the password prompt entirely, both at startup and when the screensaver kicks in. I’ll walk you through the steps clearly.

🔓 Step-by-Step: Disable Windows 10 Login Prompt

1. Remove Password Requirement at Startup

This ensures the PC boots straight to the desktop without asking for a password.

  1. Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog.
  2. Type netplwiz and press Enter.
  3. In the User Accounts window:
    • Select your daughter’s account.
    • Uncheck “Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer.”
  4. Click Apply.
  5. Enter the account password once to confirm.
  6. Restart the PC → it should now log in automatically.

2. Stop Password Prompt After Screensaver

By default, Windows asks for a password when resuming from screensaver. You can disable that.

  1. Right-click on the desktop → choose Personalize.
  2. Go to Lock Screen → scroll down and click Screen saver settings.
  3. In the Screen Saver Settings window:
    • Make sure “On resume, display logon screen” is unchecked.
  4. Click ApplyOK.

Now, when the bubbles screensaver ends, pressing a key will return directly to the desktop.

3. Optional: Disable Password on Wake from Sleep

If the PC goes to sleep, it may still ask for a password.

  1. Open SettingsAccountsSign-in options.
  2. Under Require sign-in, set it to Never.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • This makes the PC completely unsecured — anyone can access it without a password. Since it’s for your daughter’s casual use, that may be fine, but keep in mind if the PC has sensitive files.
  • If you ever want to re-enable security, just reverse the steps above.

Would you like me to also show you how to set up a child account with no password at all (so she has her own space but doesn’t need to log in), or do you prefer keeping everything under one account?
