As of today , February 2023 , the current 5G Laptop [ 1 2 3 4 ] is not going to be the 5G Laptop I have been waiting for because they cannot make phone calls and reply phone calls , just like an Android Smartphone . Take for example the 5G Cellular Laptop from HP which is called the  HP Elite Dragonfly Max .  This machine is a  “ 360 degrees foldable “ 5G Cellular Laptop running Windows 10 Operating System and it has a 5G Module , meaning , it is 5G-equipped and it is using INTEL LTE Modem ( Intel XMM 7360 LTE-Advanced Cat 9 ) to connect to a   4G / 5G   network , but it is very sad , we cannot use this machine to  make make phone calls and reply phone calls , just like an Android Smartphone . APPLE  Smartphones ( 1 2 3 4 5 6 )  use INTEL LTE Modem ( Intel XMM 7360 LTE-Advanced Cat 9 )   and they can make phone calls and reply phone calls , just like an Android Smartphone . The HP Elite Dragonfly Max   “ 360 degrees foldable “   5G Cellular Laptop  also use  INTEL LTE Modem ( Intel XMM 7360 LTE-Advanced Cat 9 )   but this machine cannot make phone calls or reply phone calls like a  5G  Android  Smartphone .     In my opinion , a true or a real   “ 360 degrees foldable “  5G Cellular Laptop like the HP Elite Dragonfly Max    should be able to make phone calls or reply phone calls , send sms , emails , WhatsApp , WeChat , Snapchat , Facebook , Instagram , Skype , Zoom , Telegram , TikTok , etc., etc.,  just like a  5G  Smartphone , so that a customer who want only one machine as their daily driver would love to have , would love to own a  [ 13.3  inches Touchable  “ 360 degrees foldable”  Windows 10 5G Cellular Laptop ] which can serve as a Laptop , which can serve as a  Tablet and which can serve as a  Smartphone .

This is the Swiss Army knife of  5G Smartphone .

My 5G Laptop is my 5G Smartphone .

This is the 5G Laptop I have been waiting for .

This is what a true , or a real  ALL-in-ONE machine  should be like !



I love my [ Laptop/tablet/smartphone(all-in-one) ] machine like for example , the …. .  It is the perfect machine for me. I do a lot of traveling and I usually carry a  computer [ which is my   Laptop/tablet/smartphone(all-in-one) machine ]  with me when I travel to keep in touch ( make phone calls and reply phone calls and more ) and to check the weather , and as a navigatonal tool (GPS ) . Since it is a 5G Cellular Laptop , I  have a 4G/5G  broadband access  for my laptop, so I can get online from anywhere , I can make  phone calls and reply phone calls from anywhere , and I can even make phone calls to a landline telephone and reply phone calls from a landline telephone which is simply amazing .   I have  always wanted a  laptop with a  built-in smartphone for my car and this                                          [ Laptop/tablet/smartphone(all-in-one) ] machine , sitting on a  computer tray inside my car , really fits the bill .  With this feature as standard equipment  for all 4G Laptops in the future and all 5G Laptops in the future ,  I guess , machines like this or computer hardware like this , has got to be the next evolution of Laptops .

The differentiating factor , the unique selling point or the

unique value proposition in

this machine is that :

1. this machine can make telephone calls to any landline

telephone and to any

  smartphone and reply telephone calls from any landline

telephone and to any

smartphone .


In my opinion , Laptops have been around for quite sometime now ( just imagine , many years ago it use to look something like this ) and with the advent of IoT , 4G and 5G , in my opinion , 4G laptops and 5G Laptops should no longer be like Laptops only , meaning , 4G Laptops and 5G Laptops should not only have cellular connectivity to a 4G network or a 5G network for high-speed Internet access BUT 4G Cellular Laptops and 5G Cellular Laptops should be re-engineered to be like 4G Smartphones and 5G Smartphones , too , meaning , 4G and 5G Laptops (more_regardless of screen size , regardless of what processor/microprocess it uses , regardless of what Operating System it uses , regardless whether it has DVD-RW Player built-in or without DVD-RW Player , etc., etc.) must be able to make phone calls and reply phone calls just like a 4G Smartphone or a 5G Smartphone and must be able to do all the stuff that a 4G Smartphone and a 5G Smartphone can do . From now on , as of today March 2023 , if we buy a 4G Cellular Laptop (that has a SIM Card) or a 5G Cellular Laptop (that has a SIM Card) , question like this should not exist anymore anymore !

Last but not least , in my opinion , the best smartphone technology in a PC/Laptop is still Windows on INTEL , not Windows on ARM .

Last but not least , in my opinion , the best smartphone technology in a PC/Laptop is still Windows on INTEL , not Windows on ARM .


In my opinion , Microsoft Surface Book 3   computer hardware , due to it's  detachable  nature , is the gold standard for Windows tablets and it is also a gold standard for Windows Laptops .  It has a  perfectly sized display ( which is my favorite form factor for a Laptop , or a Tablet or a  Smartphone )  which is   15 inches  and it has a reasonably  good processing power .  But why it is so hard to make a    Windows Laptop  like  for example , the  Microsoft Surface Book 3 ,  to be able  make telephone calls and reply telephone calls just like an Android Smartphone or a  5G smartphone .  In my opinion , this can be done if Microsoft wishes to . Take for instance , the Microsoft Surface Duo 2 , it is a cool machine with dual display and the Microsoft Surface Duo 2  can make telephone calls and reply telephone calls  just like a  5G  Android Smartphone .         If    the   Microsoft Surface Book  3   computer hardware  can make phone calls  like an  Android Smartphone or can make  phone calls like the  Microsoft Surface Duo 2  and do all the stuff like what the Microsoft Surface Duo 2  and any other  Android  Smartphone can do , then , in my opinion , the next version of the Microsoft Surface Book  3  which I called  the      Microsoft Surface Book  3    5G    ,  by God's Grace ,  will be the gold standard for  Windows Smartphones  and the gold standard for  Windows  Tablets and also the gold standard for  Windows  Laptops .   The  Laptops have come a very long way [ 1 2 3 ] and have gone through several technological evolutions to reach this point ( like , for example , the Microsoft Surface Book 3  5G )  and sometimes it is worth appreciating that if it can do this . 

I   guess , the Microsoft Surface Book 3  5G   will be  Ultimate    All-in-ONE    Windows   machine if someone invented it .


We as humans have come a very long way and have gone through several technological evolutions to reach this point, and sometimes it is worth appreciating that.

I worked for Philips Informática & Comunicaciones Spain. I was a system engineer for Siemag EF307, Data 4000, P3xx, P4000 and so on. I used to travel to Apeldoorn (Holland) to receive training courses. It all ended when Philips Data Systems was bought by Digital.

Hi Folks - joined PDS 1973 Austalia Started as Electronics Technician Facet calculators, logagbax, ibm golf balls (hmm myspelling is bad) , P350, P330 etc, then product specialist PTS6000. All to component level repairs - then got into software. On the hardware side I fixed PTS6000 cpu at component level - no fancy tester etc just had my CRO. All I can really say guys is be proud of the forefront of technology. The level we were all at seems long gone here in Australia. While many of us know very much first hand how things work thanks to our knowledge gained through employment most are left in the dark. What gets me most is I met SO MANY nice folks on courses traveling to the UK, Holland, Hong Kong I do wonder where they are all now. Glad to find this site.

Does anyone know if any actual machines still exist anywhere? Any software, either "micro" or "assembler"? I'm interested in creating an emulation using SIMH.



I worked for Philips Telecommunicatie Informatiesystemen bv (PTIS) in 1969 as a programmer for P350 systems in the Netherlands. In 1973 I started my own Company BIT programmeerbureau and I became a Philips dealer until the end of Philips in 1992. We make software for all Philips systems (P350 series, P300 series, P400, P430, P4000 and so on). Later in 1982 we sold the Philips microcomputers (P2000T, P2000M, P2000C, Philips :YES, and P3000 series).
Now I sold my company and I am collecting all Phillips types of Philips computer.
I'm still looking for P350 series en P300 series. May one of you help me.

Nowadays , as of today March 2023 , with the advent of IoT , 5G , big size smartphones , big size Tablets , Folding Smartphones ,

We even have lookalike laptops that look something like this and this .

As a result of that , I believe , a 5G Laptop is much better than a 5G Smartphone . Anyway , taste , preferences , likes , dislikes , etc., etc. are individual .

A  Cellular laptop  with a DVD-RW Player  or  a   [ Laptop/Tablet/Smartphone(ALL-in-ONE) with built-in DVD-RW Player ]  machine , like for example the  [15.6 inches  Touchscreen    " 360 degrees foldable "          INTEL-based  Windows 10  5G  Cellular Laptop with built-in DVD-RW Player] ,  is  a  machine  that   have a DVD-RW Player built-in inside them and this hardware feature give the users more option , even if it makes the machine slightly thicker and slightly heavier


The  [15.6 inches  Touchscreen    " 360 degrees foldable "          INTEL-based  Windows 10  5G  Cellular Laptop with built-in DVD-RW Player]  is a good example of a machine that have a  DVD-RW Player  built-in inside them .  Having a DVD-RW Player built-in inside a 5G Cellular Laptop makes the machine slightly thicker and slightly heavier but there are some users who are willing to accept it due to the usefulness of the  DVD-RW Player.

As of today , April 2023 , no doubt  the smartphone is a powerful computer , but in my opinion , the smartphone is still not as powerful as the Laptop [ 1 2 3 4 5 ] , let alone a  PC/Desktop . When a Laptop is connected to a device such as this and with this device , it will make the Laptop more powerful as ever , and it will make the Laptop more productive than ever .  Because with this device , I can make my computer , regardless whether it is a PC/Desktop (any PC/Desktop of my choice) or a Laptop (any Laptop of my choice)  or a Tablet (any Tablet of my choice) behave like a Smartphone , that is , make phone calls or reply phone calls , just like an Android Smartphone. In other words , in order to  make phone calls and reply phone calls , we are not tied up only to a machine which has only 6 inches or 7 inches screen size and we are not tied up to a machine which uses only ARM architecture but we can use any machine which has a bigger screen size  and different 

Before Android will become the OS of choice for Laptops ( with 15.6 inches screen size ) , Tablets ( with 15.6 inches screen size )  and Smartphones ( a folding smartphone that can unfold into a   15.6 inches  Tablet which can serve as a  Laptop , as a  Tablet and as a  Smartphone )

Some people may ask ,  " In what situation would it be necessary for one to make phone calls from a  15 inch screen or a  17 inch screen ?  A simple answer that I can give is  this or this or this or this 

I wish they design all these folding smartphones (for example , GOOGLE Pixel Fold , SAMSUNG Galaxy Z  Fold 4 ,   MICROSOFT Surface Duo 2 and others) so that they can unfold into a   15.6 inches  Tablet .   I don’t think it is so difficult to do it . It is whether they want to do it or not ! In my opinion , with that   15.6 inches form factor ,  all these  folding phone machines will be incredible  because they can serve as a  Laptop , they can serve as a  Tablet and they can serve as a  Smartphone which make these machines a  muti-function  device .  A true and a real  All-in-ONE  machine , a true and a real  All-in-ONE device, indeed !
If there is a phone out there that can truly replace a Laptop , a Tablet and a normal/traditional smartphone , in my opinion , it is going to be the  Folding Smartphone (a folding smartphone that can unfold into a 15.6 inches Tablet).  

[ i used the  "xrandr"   software  (more)  utility to set the resolution of my MSI GP70 2PE Leopard   Laptop to  1600x900 ]

computer hardware _  I wish the next version of   GOOGLE Pixel Fold   can unfold into a   15.6 inches  Tablet so that I can use it as a  Laptop , as a Tablet and as a  Smartphone .  I would love if GOOGLE make a foldable smartphone that folds out to a   15.6 inches screen ,  so that I can use it as a  Laptop , as a Tablet and as a  Smartphone .

My vision of a  5G Laptop _  A  5G  Laptop that is  "360 degrees foldable "  or   " detachable "   that come with an embedded 5G modem and has a  5G SIM Card Slot and when subscribe to a  Cellular Data Plan that come with a phone number or a personal phone number , we can use that 5G Laptop to make phone calls and answer phone calls directly on that 5G Laptop ,  just like a  5G smartphone . Since that  5G  Laptop  is   "360 degrees foldable "  or   " detachable "  , that  5G  Laptop can  serve as  a  Laptop , it can serve as a  Tablet and above all it can serve as a   Smartphone .  Meaning , phone calls can be made in  LAPTOP MODE and  in  TABLET MODE .
