Dua/Doa (Supplication)

Dua (Supplication) – The Tool for Asking what you want…

dua-supplication-the-tool-for-asking-what-you-want
Trials, tribulations and challenges are part of every person’s life. However, to counter that, Allah has provided us a very powerful tool – and that is the tool of du’a or asking Allah for help and his mercy when we need it. And we need it all the time…
However, to understand trials and tribulations that we face in our daily lives, we also need to understand the topic of "Sins" and how our sins may be related to our trials and tribulations.
The better we understand the ghastly nature of our sins, and the rate at which we accumulate them, along with their undesirable impact on our daily lives and the hereafter, the more it can propel us away from committing sins in general and the more it will drive us to seek forgiveness for our sins – through making the right Dua’s for us and for others.
Ibn Qayyim provided one of the great descriptions of sins and the impact of sins in this life and after. Here is a very short summary of what he compiled about how our sins impact our lives. [islam-qa.com]
  • Sins deprive a person of provision (rizq) in this life. In Musnad Ahmad it is narrated that Thawbaan said: “The Messenger of Allah (SAWS) said: ‘A man is deprived of provision because of the sins that he commits.’” (Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 4022, classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh Ibn Maajah).
  • A sinful person experiences a sense of alienation (indifference) with his Lord, and between him and other people. One of the salaf had said that he could see the impact of disobedience to Allah (in some aspects of his daily life).
  • A person who commits sins sees that things become difficult for him. In any matter that he turns to, he finds the way blocked or he finds it difficult. By the same token, for the one who fears Allah, things are made easy for him.
  • ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas said: “Good deeds make the face light, give light to the heart, and bring about ample provision, physical strength and love in people’s hearts. Bad deeds make the face dark, give darkness to the heart, and bring about physical weakness, a lack of provision and hatred in people’s hearts.”
  • Sin breeds sin until it dominates a person and he cannot escape from it. Sin weakens a person’s willpower. It gradually strengthens his will to commit sin and weakens his will to repent until there is no will in his heart to repent at all… so he seeks forgiveness and expresses repentance, but it is merely words on the lips, like the repentance of the liars, whose hearts are still determined to commit sin and persist in it. This is one of the most serious diseases that is likely to lead to doom. He becomes desensitized and no longer find sins abhorrent, so it becomes his habit, and he is not bothered if people see him committing the sin or talk about him.
So, we can easily see that by engaging in sins, we are not only making the prospects of our after life (integral part of Islamic faith) bleak but sins can greatly and actively contribute to the difficulties of our daily lives.
Allah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Whatever of good reaches you, is from Allah, but whatever of evil befalls you, is from yourself…” [al-Nisa’ 4:79]

Whether we encounter challenges in earning a living, in our family affairs, or other matters of life, the burden of sins greatly inhibits us from seeking the ultimate blessings of Allah and to have the potential of leading a good life in this world and the hereafter.
As for making Dua and the enormous potential it holds to help us ask for forgiveness and other things, the following provides a short description.
The following are some of the prophet’s sayings about making Dua to Allah.
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The dua’ of any one of you will be answered so long as he does not seek to hasten it, and does not say, ‘I made dua’ but I had no answer.’” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5865; Muslim, 2735, from the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah).
In the hadeeth which was narrated by al-Tirmidhi from Abu Hurayrah, who said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘There is no man who prays to Allah and makes dua’ to Him, and does not receive a response. Either it will be hastened for him in this world, or it will be stored up for him in the Hereafter, so long as he does not pray for something sinful, or to cut the ties of kinship, or seek a speedy response.’ They said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, what does seeking a speedy response mean?’ He said, ‘Saying, “I prayed to my Lord and He did not answer me.”’” (Al-Tirmidhi, 3859; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi, 852).
Some people follow practices that are not sanctioned by the Quran or Hadith such as repeating some of Allah’s names a few times. A number of scholars have said that “The words mentioned in the question are phrases that are narrated in the Qur’aan and Sunnah, but saying that they must be repeated [so many] number of times is an innovated matter which should not be followed. Rather we should mention them during our dua’s and address Allah by all His beautiful names, without singling out some names or stating that they should be recited a certain number of times or at certain times, making that up ourselves. We should adhere to what was narrated in sharee’ah concerning certain times, places or situations connected to a particular dua’; if no such details were narrated in sharee’ah then we should not make them up ourselves because that is encroaching upon the rights of Prophethood.
In the hadeeth it says: “One of you may be answered so long as he is not hasty and says, ‘I said dua’ but I got no response.’” Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6340; Muslim, 2735.
In Saheeh Muslim (2736) it says: “A man’s (dua’s) may be answered so long as it does not involve sin or severing the ties of kinship or hastening.” It was said: “O Messenger of Allah, what does hastening mean?” He said: “When he says, ‘I made dua’ and I made dua’ but I did not see any response,’ so he gets discouraged and stops making dua’.”
The dua’ should not involve sin or severing of the ties of kinship, as stated in the hadeeth quoted above: “A man’s (dua’s) may be answered so long as he does not involve sin or severing the ties of kinship …”
According to the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah: “Make dua’ to Allah when you are certain of a response.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 245.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Know that Allah does not answer a dua from a distracted heart.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 3479; classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 245.
In the hadeeth it says: [The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)] mentioned the man who undertakes a lengthy journey and is disheveled and covered with dust, and he stretches his hands towards heaven saying, ‘O Lord, O Lord,’ when his food is haraam, his drink is haraam, his clothes are haraam. He is nourished with haraam, so how can he be granted a response?

In our times, we find many reasons why people do not make Dua; we forget, don’t know how, or just do not think it will be answered. Fundamental to this is the loss of dependence and trust upon Allah. As Muslims there is something very wrong when we believe our Duas won’t be answered. We do not turn to Allah in our times of need and instead put our trust, dependence and hopes on worldly things that we think will help us.
2nazeer
Abslutly what our brother writes the above calum is true. It is 100% true that most of our muslim brothers and siters forget about duo, every body tells to opposite person to make dua for him, and it becomes a fashion. But in fact we our self not doing this.
May Allah guide every muslim. Ameen.

Dua is the key to everything in life; key to all human needs – be it in this world or hereafter. However, being human as we are, we are always in a haste whenever we make dua to Allah (SWT) and expect an immediate answer. The most important thing to note is that once dua is done concensiously with good intentions, be guaranteed that SWT will answer it. You may not see immediate result or get what you asked for but surely you will be answered. As a human you may not know whether what you are asking for from Allah (SWT) is the best for you at the time of your need(s) or not. Allah therefore knows the best for you at ALL TIMES and may decide to provide you with something else instead of what you asked for. May He answer and make our duas beneficial to us, our family, our deen and all Muslim ummah both in this world and hereafter. Ameen.

I agree with Mansoura Belayneh that many of us do not turn to Allah often enough, We should turn to Allah not only in times of need but also when times are good. During the good times we MUST thank Allah for the innumerable mercies we have in our lives. With making Duah comes Sabr and lots more Sabr, We have become a people who wants instant gratification, we are used to pressing the buttons and getting what we want NOW. Dua does not work that way as we all know – the secret tool here is sabr…..
5SEIDU GOODMAN
I believe suffering and natural disasters affects us so badly that we assume our prayers is not acceptable to Allah. Moslems are humilated ,insulted ,abused even killed and no one cares. Lets refine our ways may be Allah will listen to us and answer our prayers.
6Mahammad
Perseverance is necessary when you made your dua. What one is asking from Allah is only best known to Allah in terms of benefit or harm for the individual asking Allah. Thus, Allah may Delay or Deny your request if it may not be of benefit to you. Hence, we should always pray to Allah for the best option In Allah’s View and wait.
Regarding to the number of times one requests Allahs favour, nobody says Allah does not HEAR once (infact HE KNOWS WHAT you intend to ask), but you must ask and ONLY HIM and most importantly, repeatedly (though with perseverance) to indicate your dependance on Allah. The similarity of this is the number of rakaats you do in the late nights asking for Allah’s favour. A person who does numerous rakaats in the night is obviously more prayerful than the person who only does his five times obligatory prayers. My brother, lets be more prayerful than watching videos through the night.

indeed dua is the tool of the believer, most especially in this our times of trials and tribulations, Allah swt told usto remember Him in our time of ease and he will remember us in our time of hardship, so our dua’s should not be subjected only to times we are in difficulty, may Allah make ity easy for us. “He who depends on Allah, he is enough for him”

Asalamoualikum
Just would like to add 2 points:
1) Dua is also a form of ibadah (worship)
2) In certain situation we cannot just rely on our duas we also have to put in the effort to achieve our goal for e.g. If a student is studying for an exam and the student makes dua everyday “O Allah help me achieve a 1st class degree” the student will never achieve this if they don’t prepare for the exam or put in the effort required to achieve a 1st class. Both go hand in hand you have to put in the effort and ask for help from Allah because victory only comes from Allah.
Wasalmoualikum

Asalamu alaikum brothers and sisters. I want to agree with the message above. When we consume haram and dress haram, how can Allah swt) hear our duas. as muslim we should lead by example – living shari’a. We need to remember that Allah (swt) did not create us in vain. Our purpose in life is to worship him. When we commit sins and forget how to make dua, then we are faced with trials and tribulations.

I am in Islam now for almost 4 years. I come because I know Islam from long ago. I come back because it bring me peace and calm and I feel it is good for my soul and mind. I have much to learn I know about our prayers and making dua. Yes in these times there are so many things come our way and some so very hard. I have seen this for many years. I do depend on Allah to bring me from dark to light in these times. Even now I am going through hard time in my job with my supervisor who is determined to make my life so hard and keep me down. I seek the help of Allah and I know sometimes I become anxious because of all that is happening around me. But i know Allah knows all, he help me to raise my 2 sons alone to become young men. I admint sometimes I become afraid of the evil around me and I am not sure sometimes how to become stronger. I know we should only fear Allah, but i know sometimes I become weak to my fears. I will ask for the help of my brothers and sisters in this as well and I pray Allah will move me from the place I work to a place of peace and calm.
Salaama to all, fatimah

Asalamu alaikum I would first like to thank the sister for making her comments on the importance of making Dua’s and how they help her with her everyday life situations. We all struggle daily with them and All praises be to Allah that He allows us to revert our thoughts back to him and make Dua.When faced with struggles sometimes as well as sucess we must make Dua.When problems we face with our mates in marriage and divorce we must make Dua.When I feel that nothings going right I make Dua and I ask Allah to help me with my everyday decission making. For Allah is the planner of Plans.
13Zaheer
I agree with making dua to Allaha and definately he help us in times of our needs and he is the only who can help us, but in all the replys nobody mentioned about asking for some pious person to make dua on his behalf i have read at quite number of places that pious persons dua is eccepted more quickly, if someone can comment on it that will also be helpful .

Salaam all,
I put my remarks to Sister Fatimah. I congratulate you on your reversion to Islam, we are all reverts not converts. We are born Muslims, but our parents shape us. Have heart and faith in Allah swt, He will guide you always. I had problems with my work too previously until I could not breathe, and feared coming to work in morning. Until I arrived to the moment when I put my signature to my resignation letter, I said Bismillah…and in my heart I placed 200% faith that Allah will care for me. I did not have any other job to go to at that time. And after that signature, I felt free. And the following week, Allah sent the company director to visit my workplace (I was still serving my resignation notice then), enquired about me, and to make long story short, he placed me in another department of the company ! In other words, I was rehired and placed in a better workplace. Allahu Akbar ! So Sister Fatimah, have total faith in Allah, to the extent that you do not worry about anything, as everything will be taken care of by Him. He will guide you to the right path. You just need to ask.
Wassalam.
15Mansoura Saeed Belayneh
Salaam All,
The dua can change our life, our outlook, and our fate. It is the most potent weapon of a believer.
We should make dua at all times, not only during times of distress. The Prophet Muhammad said: “Whosoever desires that Allah answers his duas in unfavorable and difficult conditions, he should make plentiful dua in days of ease and comfort.” Also he said: “The person who does not ask from Allah, Allah becomes angry with him.”
We should all stand and before Allah and pray for his help, who alone can help.
Talk to Allah, in times, of need and in times of happiness. Ask Him and thank Him. Ask from your heart. And if you do not get what you wanted, know that He is giving you something better, if not in this world, then in the Akhirah. Where there is du’a there is hope. Believe this.
Allah Almighty says in the Qur’an: “When my servants ask you concerning me, (tell them) I am indeed close (to them). I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calls on me.” [2:186]
May Allah bless us all and guide us to the right direction.
16eza
Assalamo Alaikom, Allahu Akbar!
Making Dua’h is by submission to the will of Allah (swa), and trusting him (only) that he can provide our needs and help us, in our heart we must believe “Faidah azamto fatawaqallu Allalahi inallaha yuheebon mutawaquillin”, then leave everything to God with patience and perseverance. Moslem will be tested of their patience and perseverance, so show to God that you have it. If we don’t feel that our prayers/dua’h were not answered as we projected, it is because we are impatient by withdrawing our trust so soon. If not answered in so short or as projected, the person asks so many why? why me? why him? why not?, etc.? That is a sign of withdrawing our trust to God so soon. That is commanding or dictating God of what to do. You have to trust God if you want to be answered and wait the answers as Allah may please.

Dear brothers and sisters,
fortunately I opened my mail box and found a mail from iqrasense.com
Tears rolled down to see the support of our muslim brothers and sisters
Dua is the key to success.
when you become mazloom ( I don’t know the english word for mazloom) and make dua, your dua will not denied.
ulema says mazloom’s dua vibrates the urshe muallla. It has became a fashion to say others for dua but really we have to make dua for all our brothers and sisters who are in trouble. Indian muslim and facing some problems in my sarrounding as sister fatima is facing. I forget my problems as I heard the american muslims facing. anyway this world is prison for momin heaven for kafir.
Wassalamu alaikum

19Fatimah
Please allow me to thank all of you for your care and your dua for me. Truly it overwhelms me to see so many people I never met to care of my thoughts and my feelings. While there are many muslim in USA, often times life can be hard for us and more hard if you are a black person. Sometime I have often wondered in my youth, why my life seem so difficult, but as I have grown older and I look back, I see Allah was in front of me all the time. It was Allah who help me to care my sons and give me strenght to work 2 jobs to feed them, it was Allah who make a way when the dark seemed to cover my eyes, and my face, it was Allah who bless me to have both my parents now at age 88 and 82. I can go on and on with all the things that Allah give to me and do for me. To say thank you is not enough. Though my times have been hard and still are many now, my thoughts are alwasy that Allah see all and now all things and Allah’s word is the last word. Thank you all so so much for caring of me.
Fatimah

Allah is all sufficient for every muslim. We as muslims need to believe very strongly that our dua whenever it is made,SWT is ever knowing and will answer at his appointed time.As humans,we are always in a haste to get answers no matter the request. So many of our muslim brothers and sisters do not have that patience that is why they seek quick response else where not minding the consequences. With God all things are possible.

As Salaam Alaikum Wa Rah Matullahi Wa Baraktohu brothers and sisters in Islam.
It was very nice to read the topic Dua. Just a few things We should always read Darood Shareef ” Allah Humma Sali Ala Sayidina Maolana Mohammediu Wa Alaa Ale Sayidina Maolana Mohammediu wa Barik Wa Sallim”, and read as many other surahs and then ask Allah Subhan O Talla for Dua for all. We should always end with Darood Shareef.
Allah always tests his favourite people, and you will see the more we read and do Dua the more we suffer but is is a test and we have to do Sabar. Insha Allah all our Dua’s from heart is Ameened. May Allah helps all of us to be strong and be able to live in this world of hatred. May he help us be friendly with all and be thankful to all we have. May he helps us of us with our Rizk and Mental and Family Support. May he bless with tons of Barakah that we all can share and think about less fortunate ones. May Allah Sub Han O Ta Allah gives us all Imaan and Hidayat.

Fatima – please dont think that your times would be hard in days to come please fully believe in Allah who would help you in your daily chores also if you have hard time here think of the life afterwards that HE promises so many times the rewards. Please read the Quran with its meaning and also its tafsir. I know working women have not enough time but please take out some time e.g 30 minutes a day and increase the time slowly. Please recite various Quranic Dua in between the daily work. REgards

All people told me that he would be jailed for 15 years ,even lawyers told me that minimum would be 8 years ,he was wronged by someone and caught by the police . i ignored everything about all this till everything collapsed down ,but i said from the first moment i heard about it hamdollilah for all ,my god will not let me down ‘ana inda hossni dani abdi ma dama abdi yohssino aldana bi’ .Allah gave me a strong faith and a positive belief in the future .i have been patient ,and allah sent me a lot of helpful people . for sis months nothing new ,i went to visit him in the foreign country ,in the plane i made douaa and cried to ALLAH ,i said my god show me a light ,i am really lost ,you know that i have no one but you ,i said allah be my waliyi fi aldonia’ i do not know if it was my douaa or my parents or anyother min alsalihin ,but i was answered right after landing at 8 h the president of that country gave a grace to all the prisoners in some cases walahi this is true i was answered ,some friend told me it was an ikramiya from allah because miracles are over ,i tell you nothing is impossible for Allah sobhanaho wa taala ,believe ,cry and pray and you will be answered .ALLAH is so generous and rahim bi ibadihi sobhanaho wa taala. know i need your douaa for me for althabat because after all this i am still wronged by my husband ,he is so far from the right path ,need your prayer for him bil houda. djazakoum allah kolla kheir. your sister meriem.

Dear All,
It is very true that today we are more dependent on the materialistic world and have forgot the spiritual connection.
In urdu we say that ” RIZQ KI TALASH MEIN HUM RAZZAQ KO BHOOL GAYE”. Even if you do not know how to plead in front of Allah Subhana wa Ta’ala, you can get blesed by simply reciting Surah Fateh. This in itself is a dua
Please try to practice this and see the wonders in your life Allah Subhana wa Ta’ala will create
Yours Brother

Assalamu alaikum brothers and sisters,
I am 100% in support of our brother above (Shujjaudin) that surah fatiha is sufficient enought for all our needs. I strongly advice sister fatimah to keep reciting it as dua. surely Allah (SWT) will make a way for her and other brothers and sisters who are in need.
Ma’assalam

Brother made a very important point. Surah Fatiha itself is a dua seeking guidence from ALLAH SWT . So one can always be guided by ALLAH by just reciting Surah AL-Fatiha attentively.

Dua (Supplication prayers) – True and correct as said THE TOOLS for asking what you want.To make these ” TOOL” be EFFECTIVE , i wanna share the following “spices” to make the supplication Effective :
1. QUIT WORRYING: Always remember that Allah is watching over us and always be there to take all our burdens and carry them for us. 2. TRUST ALLAH: Trust in HIM. Have the faith that HE will take care of all your needs, your problems and your trials.Just do your Best and Allah will do the rest. 3. TALK TO HIM OFTEN ( thru sincere prayer):\ Please, don’t forget to PRAY- OFTEN. Prayer is simply having conversation with HIM. Call HIM and He will be there. 4. HAVE FAITH: Have FAITH AND PUT YOUR TRUST IN HIM. HE will continue to care for you, watch over you, and meet your needs. You only have to TRUST HIM. 5. BE PATIENT: Trust in HIS timing, for HIS timing is perfect. 6. BE KIND: Please try to get along, for HIS sake. HE created each of you different in some way. Be kind to others. 7. LOVE YOURSELF: lOVE YOURSELF As much as ALLAH loves you .It makes HIS heart ache when HE sees you so angry with yourself when things go wrong. WE ARE ALL very precious to HIM….precious since we are all His creation.
I hope that you will be blessed by this .

i am overwhelmed reading the coment submited by my 30 muslim brothers and sisters. being the 31st, i hope i will not be the last. dua is teh key to success and great step to have strong faith. The more prayerful we are, the stronger we become in our faith. no matter what comes our way it is thru dua that we will believe that tough times never last but tough minds. irrespective of the obstacle we are facing presently lets believe Almighty Allah is only testing our faith so dont let us faith. Though it is had to have this strong faith very few do have it but please let us all endure to make it thru. this faith is fading gently in me but thanks to Almighty Allah for giving me a wonderful mother in what is happening to me recently. Im in a company where we are all working without pay. im a fresh gradute others are still managing to cope bcs they’ve bn working wth another company before now. as a fresh graduate im spending a lot of money for transport fare alone, monthly. food is not there, ive nt bn paid for 3 month that i started and no other working place option. what do i do, i dnt know. Assalam Alaikum Bros & Sisters in Islam!
Wonderful. What you ,ve written here is very true and has happened to me,as it is stated in the sayings of the Prophet for our Duas to accepted first and foremost our intention should be very clear, the source of our earning, feeding ETC should all be wel defined. Otherwise our Duas will not be ansswered.
Allah should reward the entire IQRA memebers with Janat -u – l Firdaus Ameen.

Du’a is very essential, it is our gateway reaching Allah mercy and blessings, anything we fear and distress in this world, No one will help us except Allah alone, to Him we must rely. I have been Muslims for 20 years and my life became more blessed because i am always tries to follow what Allah commands. The significance of prayers dealts all. In my situation, everytime i need help, I could only ask Allah alone, and all my fears and sorrows vanishes, this is the miracle of faith. My beliefs and my religion is very important to me, loving Islam everyday, seeking knowledge is an advantage to me. I am very proud i embraced Islam, no other religion suffices any human being, only Islam.

Salaam,
Reading your messages have brought tears in my eyes. It has been too long that I have been taking distance from Allah. This article is saying entire truth. The more you start committing sins, the more you get involved and the more they become common to you. You enter a vicious circle… thinking, I have already done it, so it won’t change anything… But each time, your sin increase in degree… it becomes a bigger one. And one day you realize that you are finally doing as everyone is doing, you have become what you have always denigrated and hated. You have become a full sinner. How is that possible? Powerwill leaves, you become depressed, you do not enjoy anything, you do not show respect to family anymore, life becomes dark and you think now it is too late. You fear facing Allah. You do not have trust in anything anymore. You try to pray but your attention is not there. It is a superficial prayer. As the article mentions it, you also bear the consequence of your sins. In my life, I have always noticed that whenever I have committed wrong acts (would it be small or big), I have always been punished for it. It is as if Allah does not want me to commit sins and if I do, I’m punished straight away. I can give you example, the biggest example of my whole life. Lately I did something wrong (don’t be amazed, for some people, that act would be nothing, for me it was already too much). The day after, I was loosing my job. While committing that sin, I had Allah in my mind, I was thinking of Him. But I did not stop. And see, the day after, I was being deprived of my earnings. Life has become quite difficult for me lately. All due to the hatred I have developped for people but also and mostly because I started loosing faith in my Allah. I pray every day to him to bring me back on right track, to be as before the examplary person. Also, if there are some youngs here, be careful about your company. Do not tie links with people who might have a bad influence on you. Unless you are very very strong (which I thought I was), you will always end up being influenced without even noticing it. This is the game of Shaytan. So be careful.
I think i have talked too much… JazakAllah Khair.

Assalam -Wa- alykum, My Muslim Brothers and Sisters , I think that we all have sense of our duties and we all know about making dua’s to ALLAH but still donot practice or follow it seriously . Whichever time you get wherever place you get let you be alone or be with friends be in gathering or any where always talk about ALLAH tell good things to others listen to people what good they suggest. Always Pray to ALLAH , Ask whatever you want you will get whatever is your wish I think That HE gives every body his or her own share which HE has fixed for him or her. And when you don’t get what you have asked from HIM don’t feel sad because much more he is going to give you by multiplying the good deeds you have done. HE never does wrong to us it we donot have patience in us. So Please pray pray pray make Duas not only for ourselves for others also . thanks

Assalamu alaikum All, Indeed dua is the best tool which we muslims have. we can make dua by reciting surah fateha then durood one more thing i want to add to this is we can make duaa by giving the waseela of our good deed which we have done only and only for the sake of allah.inshallah allah will surely answer our prayers. Jazakallhumma khair

Allah swt is Most Wise. When we make dua we should never think that Allah swt has not answered our dua. There is also a great lesson to be learned behind dua. Our duas are tests from Allah. We all go on about having patience but when put to the test how many of us actually strive for this quality. Sometimes Allah swt delays so we are forced to practise patience. It happened to me Mashallah :)

MashAllah I have been reading the comments above mine….I have to agree and say the feelings you get after saying your prayers and putting your whole trust in Allah swt is great & immense…no feeling can describe how good and comfortable that feels….
For I myself have encountered my experinces in life…My question for brothers and sisters out there is…does everything happen for a reason? or for the best? does someone have any islamic refernces to this?

Dua’a or supplications are very essential especially when we suffer troubles in this life, life in this world is very hard, you have to work in order to survive, you have to live to the fullest that no matter how hard it is, still we need someone whom we could lean on. Only Allah can give us all what we wanted, His blessings will lead us to where we gonna be. Dua’a is our sword in order to survive, without Allah’s blessings and forgiveness, we arent valuable and not worth in the sight of Allah. He created us to worship him Alone and Dua’a will lead us to straight path. Make it a habit, make Dua’a in everything we do, do you think what is right, and He wont abandoned us, so true, it applies to me all the time. May Allah grant us all peace and blessings, live and die as good belivers and InshaAllah we go to Jennah.

spent all night going through this and i cried a lot. right now i am going through a difficult time in my life but it is true that when one draws really close to ALLAH, one feels really light at heart. i did a lot of wrong in the past and i faced mild consequences. i truly believe Allah is merciful because even through hard times He is truly there for us. i find so much comfort in Dua’a, there is always this unexplainable feeling of happiness it gives which words cant even half explain. all those going through trials, may the Almighty see you through- AMEEN
i love everything this site stands for and i cant seem to get enough of it. thank you to everyone that has written because you really are inspiring people :) Masha Allah.

I am unable to adjust with the circumstances… Am ready to work but can’t find any source…If i say sthing to my husband it feels am telling him you are not doing enough ,that makes him frustrated too. We belong to good families , but seems am no more part of that lifestyle ,am in Australia with my husband ,and since I came here life has been changed.I dono what, am unable to cope with it, we r expecting our first baby, my husband says its due to baby expenses our hands are tight and it will be alright …Please pray for me that Allah give me sabar and open someway for me so that I can be at ease. I heard Allah doesn’t try us more than our sabar. I pray 5 times a day ,ask for His help, I don’t want to be unthankful to him, but i need some direction, some peace of mind .Am getting depressive like this. He has been very kind to me, there were times when He heard my prayers in a blink of eye and got me out of big troubles, but now I dono why…..

Assalam alaikum, brothers and sisters.
After reading this article, and all the comments, my heart started to come at peace. I really do believe that patience is key, and that rushing things only obstructs or cancels the process.
May Allah bless you all and always keep us on the true path, ameen!

Jazakumullahu kheyr (Iqrasense)
May Allah reward you for your efforts. Dua is part of ibada, may Allah accept our dua (ameen)
52Hassan Bawa
Assalamu laikum warahmatullah Another aspect of Dua that is very important is saying it the right way. Most of us that do not understand the Arabic Language and its meanings end up reciting the Dua wrongly. We need to learn the language to know what we are asking from our creator. Otherwise I feel it is better to say our Dua in our mother tongue. Allah (SWA) understands us in what everway we ask Him. This is in addition to taqwa and being free from haram. Above all we ask Allah for His Rahmah, which is domain for accepting our Duas’. Thank you for this site.
53Aadam Sulaeman
It should be noted in the hadith quoted above that the sins we commit has got a great impact on our prayers being answered. This is more so because the prophet (SAW) informed us of a number of people whose prayers can’t but be answered among whom is a traveller while on the journey…Despite the fact that the man is on a journey (and hence should have his prayers quickly answered), he’s still denied this golden opportunity of a prompt response to his request because of his consumption of haraam…
54Muhammad Aminu Jibril
Very few Muslims understand the power of suplication. We hardly create time for du’a, forgeting that Allah’s doors are open for their acceptance. No prayer as long as it meets the set requirement goes unswered. Therefore, there is need for us all to imbibe the tradition of saying du’a at least once a day. May Allah give us the wisdom of engaging in supplication, amin For you out there, may Allah reward you abundantly.

57Monica
As’Salamu Alaikum Sister, I have prayed for you. Allah Please help my sister in Islam to know without a doubt that You are listening to her and that Your help will come to her in this life or in the hereafter as long as her intentions are pure, and she seeks forgiveness, and she worships You alone, and she only prays to You for help. (not for the help of persons who have died) Please guide her to seek knowledge from the Imam in her local Masjid, and also the help of the sisters in her Masjid, and please guide her to the Masjid every Friday to pray in congregation for Juma Prayer and to gain knowledge from the Imam’s Khutbahs. Ameen.
Dear Sister, I am like you. I do not know how to pray the Surahs in Arabic. I only know Al Fatiha in Arabic. I am struggeling myself, to immerse myself in an Islamic way of life for myself and my husband and two teenage sons. It is not easy when there are so many people who are encouraging non-Islamic behavior. I will continue to perfect my faith and ask for forgiveness along the way. Until you are able to learn the Suras in Arabic, say them in English or your mother language. Until you are able to recite the Suras word-by-word in English, recite what you remember. Learn how to pray by going to Youtube and searching “How to pray in Islam” there are some videos that will teach you. Also to learn the prayers in Arabic, go to google and type: (mount hira surah al fatiha) and you will receive a wonderful website which I have just started to learn from. Wa Alaikum as’Salam, Monica Your Sister in Islam, Monica

I know about our prayers and making dua. Dua helps in removing of pain and suffering. At present I am going through hard time in my job/life with my officer who is determined to make my life so hard and keep me down. I seek the help of Almighty Allah and I know sometimes I become anxious because of all that is happening around me. My promotion is blocked and other problems are created as i refused to accept corruption. I know Allah knows all, he will help me to move me from the place I work to a place of peace and calm.
Salaam to all brothers and sisters,

i am very thankful from Allah subhana wa thaallah that we comment on very Islamic issues but the only thing that i want to write here is this that those things that we every day learn we must observe in our daily activities.

73Your Brother In NEED

Praying for Muslim brother or sister is highly valued in view of Allah. I pray for all of my brothers and sisters who are in difficulties and generally for all of ummah of prophet Mohammad S.A.
I am going through hardship of life, my family is deteriorated as I am apart from my wife and children. Please PRAY for ME that Allah A.W. grant his Rehma and Forgiveness to me and my family. Allah may give his blessing to you and your family as well. Ameen

My life seems to be blocked from any thing good happening. I try to pray regularly and am fasting but i feel maybe me and my family are cursed. Please pray for me and my family for i am a single mom struggling to make ends meet. I feel like i am stuck and headed nowhere. I put my full trust in allah and hope things will turn out for the best! Each day is a struggle…

I have heard that if we pray for the betterment of our Muslim borthers and sisters then Allah will grant us the same thing we have demanded for our brother/sister in Islam i.e while praying for certain brother in islam when we’ll invoke Allah that Oh my Lord grant health to my that brother then the angels will invoke Allah that Oh Allah grant same to him too..

I need this thank you so much
may Allah reward you for this
good work

77mushtaq

dear brothers and sisters, It is indeed that Allah SWT is Samee and aleem, we should approach him in the manner that my rabb is inna rabbi samee ud dua, with a clean and clear heart. All our prayers are answered in a way or other and we should not lose heart and the best of dua of duas is rabbana aatina fit duniya hasana, wa fil aakhirati hasanatan wa qina azaaban naar, wa adkhilnal jannata ma al abraar. For best supplications read hisn-haseen and follow it – you will see amazing results.
Request for remembering me in your duas.
Wassalam. Mushtaq

78Mohammed Kareem Khan

AssalamuAlaikum Wa Rahmathullahi wa barkatahu – I do accept and realize that duas made with full concentration will be answered.
Thankyou for good postings.

79abdul

Thanks very much for this spiritual insight! You see, Allah is the only SELF SUFFICIENT, and He needs no one for any reason whatsoever. But we constantly need Him to quide, protect, provide and forgive us our numerous misdeeds. The very moment we stop asking Him for His help we have automatically become disobedient and rebelous. Every muslim either in difficulty or in ease must make dua, either for thanks giving or seeking for prosperity. Dua is the most potent weapon for us as believers. May Allah grant us sabbr and accept our various duas. Amin!

Salam brothers and sister
When Allah(sw) is all u have then surely u have all u need.

Sometimes prayers are not answered no matter what we do. I think it is foolish to guarantee that your duas will always be answered. I know a Muslim husband who drank alcohol regularly and the wife did not say anything. They are blessed as their children worship their parents and will do anything for them. I know a Muslim family who did everything that would please Allah, but they have gone through unspeakable trials and tribulations.

82Aysha Malik

Dear Razanne
Well I disagree with you – yes you do get good and bad in every nation, but let me tell you the difference between the 2 muslim families.
The one that drinks knows that this is wrong so yes on this tempory life which is earth you say he is blessed and have all and the one the family that worship Allah has nothing – well you wrong!!!!!
They are so blessed in many ways – firstly the man that drinks has everything but when he dies – what happens to him after he dies? as he as muslim knows it is big sin to drink. Jesus PBUH also says in bible it is forbidden to drink wine, eat pork, ect. we as muslim believe in Jesus PBUH – we muslim are more christians than the christians are.
The family that is praising Allah and following what our beloved prophet Muhammad (PBUH) will get the life they deseve and that is paradise-
I have embraced islam 8months ago and I know how lost I was in this tempory world – I am far better off without all my riches and prefer living my life as a muslim who lives for Allah and is thankfull for blessing and teaching from our beloved Muhammad PBUH.
So what I am saying to you – that earth is a tempory life – life begins after death – so think for yourself we muslim who live our lives as Allah wants us to live – do reap the greatest reward – Life after death – PARADISE.
